About
27-year-old professional with a background in legal writing, journalism, marketing/PR & Graphic Design
I currently work in the business immigration field, drafting complex legal arguments for immigrant and non-immigrant visas at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP. Prior to joining Fragomen as a Business Immigration Analyst (legal writer/paralegal), I worked as a Proofreader & Production Assistant for Hawaii Fishing News, where I supported the production team in proofreading articles and finalizing the magazine’s layout prior to print.
In 2021, I earned my Master of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa . I graduated in 2017 from Arizona State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication, Political Science and Asian Studies. During college, I interned at USA Today, The Arizona Republic, and The Indy Star as a news reporter. I also served in communication and public relations/marketing roles in many organizations and internships, including the Mesa Arts Center, Arizona Students’ Association, and ASU Changemaker Central. After I graduated, I worked as a journalist, first as an education reporter in Palm Springs, California, and later as a fact-check reporter for The Associated Press in Phoenix, Arizona.
In my free time, I enjoy embroidering, baking (my favorite things to make are croissants and pork floss buns), and bullet-journaling.

Writing & Reporting
Investigation, February 4, 2016
Spent two weeks compiling a database from Senate and House Ethics Committee reports. Reviewed and analyzed data. Presented inconsistencies and patterns to editor and co-wrote story. I found that the Senate Ethics Committee did not impose any disciplinary actions against anyone for the past nine years.
International relations, politico, June 16, 2016
Spent one week developing a government- or trade-related story. Decided to focus on Rodrigo Duterte, the then just-elected President of the Philippines, and his claim on the South China Sea and Trump-like rhetoric toward journalists and criminals. Asked Sen. Mazie Hirono a related question at a press conference on Philippine-American relations. Speculated that Duterte might deal one-on-one with China in regards to the territorial dispute, which indeed happened in late 2016.
Fact Check, The Arizona Republic, July 11, 2016
Analyzed a claim Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu made on television regarding Senate Bill 1108, which allows individuals over the age of 21 to carry concealed firearms without a permit. I determined that the report Babeu cited, in addition to crime rates in Arizona, did not support his statement.
